Why does this guy stare at me so much?

this guy is new in my school ...we don't have a single cl together. when ever we come across each other in the corridors, he stares directly into my eyes in such a piercing way ..i tend to look away..he is cute ..and a lot of girls like him ..but i detest him ..he is such a show off and a jerk & i don't think he can like me .. i mean as soon as he came .. he became a part of the popular clique ..and i'm just average in this whole "clique" thing.
